I know this site is for the Savage. However, I need some collective knowledge.
I can’t seem to find a site for my Suzuki twin. It’s a 93 Suzuki GS500E. When I run through the gears with light throttle it is smooth as silk. The trouble is when I open the throttle to full, under this load the engine misses and struggles between 6,000-8,000rpm. After 8000, it will “clear up” and runs smooth to the red. (11,000rpm) I feels as if it is starving for fuel. If this were the case, why does it run so strong from 8,000 to 11,000rpm?
In this struggling power band, it produces no smoke but dose make a rattling noise from the top end. I have been through both carbs, they are clean. Also, new plugs and air filter.
I have pulled one plug wire and tried it on one cylinder. Both the right and left cylinders running solo still have the same miss. I have tried cooler plugs thinking perhaps pre-ignition or detonation, no change. Am I hearing the timing chain? I am at a loss at this point. The bike has 7,000 miles on it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you, John
